Enjoy Your Summer

Thanks to everyone who made this year’s curling season a great success.  A special thanks goes out to our club president Erik and our outstanding board members.

Even though the stones are put away for the summer, we are hard at work preparing for next year’s curling season.  Please check back here later in the summer as new information about our club will be posted as it is received.

Have great summer!

Upcoming Learn-to-Curl Events

We have two public learn-to-curl events coming up on March 29 (Thu) and April 4th (Wed), both from 7 to 9 pm. These are open events to bring your friends and family to try out curling. Cost is $10 per person for non-members.  This is a great opportunity for anyone in the public who would like to give curling a try.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

Notes from our President

Hello fellow curlers,

A few bits of curling news before we wind down this season.

-There will not be a spring curling league that I discussed in an e-mail last week. There does not seem to be enough interest in the club to make it economically viable.

-We could use some help with a corporate event on March 22nd from 7 to 9 pm.  J2 Office Supply is renting the rink and asking us to teach them how to curl. We could use some help teaching and playing with these folks.

-The Missoula Curling Club has announced a couple bonspiels (tournaments) in the coming months. The first is March 23-25th in Missoula. They are trying to gather 24 to 32 teams from the region to compete in their 2nd annual Zootown Bonspiel. (See the attachment for details). The second Missoula event is a state championship to be hosted in Missoula in May.  They have not set a specific date yet, but it looks like it will be either May 12th or 26th. I expect the costs will be comparable to the Zootown Bonspiel.

-In the distant future, the Wenatchee Curling Club has announced their 2nd annual Desert Rocks Bonspiel on September 7th, 8th and 9th in Wenatchee, WA.  A registration form for this event can be found on our bulletin board at the rink.

Please contact me if you have any questions about any of these events.

Thanks,

Erik
